Project Healthy Easter Basket©
Project Healthy Easter Basket is a fun filled event created to teach children to enjoy preventive behavior life-styles by engaging in the hands-on development of their very own “healthy” Easter basket. The strategy of this event is to help kids make smart dietary choices and to create a zealous appreciation for dental hygiene that will inspire children to make a firm effort to establish the routine habit of brushing and flossing promptly after eating.
Stations with the items and products needed to create the “healthy” Easter basket are conveniently organized for children. No basket will be complete without a bunny. The Brushtime®Bunny has been purchased and donated to the Project Health Easter Basket event by The Children’s Oral Health Institute and Brushtime Products, Inc. in prior years. Many other local and national businesses and corporations have also provided in-kind support for the springtime occasion. Fresh fruit, including apples, bananas, oranges, pears, a few confectioneries, plastic Easter eggs, a coloring book and crayons complete the basket that is then placed in a pastel cellophane wrapping and topped with a colorful bow.Delightful springtime music is played during the Easter egg hunt. The Tooth Fairy and Peter Cotton Tail give out tooth treasure boxes and prizes. Both give autographs and take pictures with the children. Drawings for other fun prizes are held and children may receive a free dental screening.
